booking your spot
Please sign up for our email list to be notified of all trip announcement, launches, and sales. That is the only way to be directly notified when trips go on sale.
To guarantee your spot, you can pay in full or put down a deposit as part of a payment plan. You’ll receive a booking confirmation within 24 hours.
Yes, payment plans are available, with options based on when you book:
- Book early: 30% deposit + 5 monthly payments
- Mid-window: 30% deposit + 3 monthly payments
- Last call: 30% deposit + shorter biweekly plan
Please note, payment plans are only available for a limited time. Once supplier and vendor payments are due on our end, new payment plans may no longer be offered. Booking earlier gives you the most flexibility.
We accept all major Debit and Credit cards.
All deposits are non-refundable. Remaining payments are refundable until 90 days before trip departure. If a trip has to be postponed or canceled due to circumstances beyond our control, you can either get a full refund or use your payment toward a future trip. Please see full policies in our Terms and Conditions.
Once you book, we start covering costs for everything from vendor bookings to credit card fees so your spot is locked in.
Yes! You can book spots for yourself, a friend, or a partner—most rooms are doubles, so we recommend booking 2 spots if you have someone in mind you want to share with.
You can also gift a trip to someone! Just provide the recipient’s details when booking so we can make sure their spot is confirmed and all trip info reaches them directly.
All traveler details are collected during checkout, so you don’t need to worry about filling out extra forms later.
The maximum per booking is 2 travelers, so if your group is larger, you’ll need to place multiple bookings.
We sometimes offer early bird discounts, multi-trip deals (like Scotland + England), and affiliate codes.
Only one coupon code can be used per purchase, and it must be applied at checkout, so your spot is only guaranteed once you book. Don’t wait to see if a coupon appears; prices and availability can change quickly!
There will be a waiting list on a first-come, first-served basis in case spaces open up. Once a trip is at capacity, you can sign up for the waiting list for each trip on their individual trip pages. Keep an eye on your email for when trip spaces open.
Trip Details & Requirements
All travelers must be 18 years old or older.
Yes, it is mandatory for all Periodic Escapes guests to have personal travel insurance for the duration of the trip. Our affiliate, Safety Wing offers coverage at affordable rates. We recommend you book your travel insurance as soon as you make your trip deposit to protect your investment.
To join us in the UK as a traveler from the US, you’ll need an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before your arrival. The ETA is an official authorization for a short visit to the UK for tourism, and it’s all done online!
It costs £16 and you apply directly on the UK’s government website. You’ll need the passport you’ll be using to travel to the UK, an email address, and payment method.
We’ll guide you through the whole process once you’ve booked.
You don’t need to have any specific level of fitness to join us on our trips. Our goal is for everyone to feel comfortable with the activities on our trips.
You can expect walking tours and museum wandering. If a gentle hike is scheduled, we will ensure you know what to expect.
Note that Alanna, your trip host, considers herself outsidey, not outdoorsy and even despite asthma and back problems has managed all the activities on our itinerary!
Please note that due to the nature of the itinerary, we’re unable to accommodate guests who require mobility assistance.
This is your trip and we want you to feel comfortable with the activity level. We’ve worked hard to ensure the itinerary feels balanced between activities and downtime.
We know the magic of travel goes beyond the schedule and the best moments often come from wandering with no plan, so when possible, you’ll have plenty of time to explore on your own.
Any time you want to opt out of an activity, you certainly can!
You’ll want to have some money on hand for food, souvenirs, alcohol, and any additional activities or attractions you want to visit during your free time. While most places on this itinerary are sure to accept major Credit and Debit cards, we recommend having about £100 in cash just in case.
You can find meals that fit all budgets from grocery store budget lunches called “meal deals” where for £5 or so you can get a sandwich, side, and drink to high end luxury restaurants and afternoon teas.
Tipping is appreciated in the UK, where 10% is often customary. Be sure to read your check carefully as sometimes they add tips automatically.
Absolutely! Our trips are designed to let you unleash your inner child, so dressing up is always welcome and you won’t be alone!
We find that locals love seeing how “into it” we are and it sparks a lot of fun conversations.
