Wizard’s Journey to Scotland (May 2027)
What You’re Actually Getting: A fully planned 8-day Scotland experience with accommodations, transportation, admissions, guided experiences, breakfasts, select meals, and a host traveling alongside you. You handle your flights and personal spending. We handle the logistics.
Why this trip
- A genuinely small group — With a maximum of 20 travelers, you’re not being herded around Scotland on a giant tour bus praying for a reprieve.
- The locations you’ve dreamt about — Visit filming locations across the Edinburgh, Fort William, Glenfinnan, Glencoe, and Alnwick (England) instead of piecing them together through separate day tours.
- Scotland beyond the fandom — Experience historic cities, castles, Highlands, and local experiences alongside the locations that brought you here.
- Room to breathe — The itinerary is structured, but you won’t spend seven days being rushed around.
- The logistics are handled —Transportation, accommodation, admissions, guides, and the itinerary are all taken care of.
- Come alone without traveling alone — Meet a small group of people who already have at least one thing in common with you, without mandatory group bonding activities.

Why not plan it yourself?
You totally can (I have!). But putting this trip together on your own means researching hotels, figuring out transportation between Edinburgh and the Scottish Highlands (hello, opposite side of the road driving), booking filming locations and attractions before they sell out, coordinating multiple destinations, finding reliable guides, and building an itinerary that isn’t more exhausting than fun.
Periodic Escapes handles ALL the logistics so you can spend your time actually enjoying Scotland.
You get the filming locations you came for, the history and culture that enhance the visit, transportation between destinations, carefully chosen accommodations, a local guide, planned experiences, and free time to explore on your own.
What traveling with us is actually like
This is a group trip, but it isn’t a trip where you have to be “on” every minute.
- Maximum 20 travelers. Small enough to feel personal without being a private tour.
- Coming alone? That’s normal. You don’t need to bring a friend to have someone to travel with.
- Free time is intentional. There are opportunities to explore on your own, grab a coffee, shop, take photos, or simply recharge.
- No forced icebreakers. You’ll have natural opportunities to connect with the group without mandatory awkward games.
- You don’t have to be the biggest fan in the room. Whether you’ve been obsessed for decades or simply love the stories and what to see where they came to life, you belong here.
- I’ll be traveling with you. I’m your host (Alanna here, hi!) throughout the trip, alongside our local guide and travel partners.

Periodic Escapes is New. The Experience Behind It Isn’t.
Periodic Escapes may be new, but I’m not new to planning travel.
I’ve been creating detailed, thoughtfully planned travel experiences since 2018, and I’ve spent years organizing group travel through conferences, workshops, and other group experiences. I’ve built my travel business around taking complicated trips and turning them into itineraries people can actually follow and enjoy.
For this trip, I’m not doing everything alone. I’ve partnered with an experienced UK destination management company and local guides to provide on-the-ground support with logistics, transportation, accommodations, and activities. I’ll also be traveling with the group throughout the trip as your host.
Periodic Escapes is an insured, authorized seller of travel, and this trip has been planned with the same Type A attention to detail I bring to every itinerary I create.
You don’t have to figure out Scotland on your own. That’s exactly the point.
